Boots On Ground is a daily on-site activity form submitted against a work order. It records what work was done on-site each day — including crew size, activity type, program of work, and estimated times. This form is used by Field Techs, Subcontractor Admins, and Org Admins.

Starting a New Boots On Ground Form

Open the work order — Navigate to the work order you were on-site for and open it.

Click the + button — In the top right of the work order, click the + button to open the activity options menu.

Select Boots On Ground — From the dropdown menu, select Boots On Ground. The "Create New Boots on Ground" form will open.

Pre-filled Fields

The following fields are automatically populated from the work order — you do not need to enter these manually:

Date On-Site — Defaults to today's date. Update if submitting for a different day.

Project — Pulled from the work order.

Project ID — Pre-filled from the work order.

SAM ID — Pre-filled from the work order.

Job Code — Pre-filled from the work order code.

Site Address — Pre-filled from the work order location.

Street and City — Automatically parsed from the site address.

Completing Mandatory Fields

Self or For Someone Else — Select Self if submitting for yourself, or For Someone Else if submitting on behalf of another crew member. Subcontractor Admins and Org Admins will often use this option.

Crew Size — Enter the number of crew members on-site.

Program of Work — Select the applicable program from the dropdown.

Estimated Start Time — Enter the time work began on-site.

Estimated Finish Time — Enter the time work finished on-site.

Activity — Select the type of work performed.

Activity Type — Select the activity category.

Build Phase — Select the current phase.

Commentary (Optional) — Add any additional notes about the day's activities.

Submitting the Form

Click Submit — Once all mandatory fields are complete, click Submit at the bottom of the form. A confirmation message will appear: "Boots on ground created successfully."

💡 Tip: Submit your Boots On Ground form at the end of each day on-site — don't leave it until the next morning. Accurate start and finish times matter for reporting, and the details are easiest to recall while still fresh.
